One of the world's most complex geopolitical games is shaping the relationship between Israel and Azerbaijan.

This alliance is not merely about military support; it is part of a strategic manipulation woven with deep, insidious, and long-term calculations. Is it true friendship, or the ruthless dance of interests? The answer to this question is critical enough to upset the regional balance.

Military Support: Not the Sole Determinant of Victory

The weapons Israel provided to Azerbaijan were particularly highlighted during the Second Karabakh War. However, this support alone cannot fully explain the victory. Turkey's diplomatic moves and, in particular, the Bayraktar UAVs were the true force that determined the outcome of the war. Pakistan's intelligence contributions cannot be overlooked either. Even though Israel modernised its weapons, the success on the ground was the result of a much more complex Turkey-Azerbaijan cooperation. This reality goes beyond exaggerating Israel's role and shows how regional power balances are skilfully manipulated. Wars are not won with weapons alone; they are shaped by a combination of strategy, diplomacy and intelligence.

Israel's Dangerous Moves in Regional Strategies

Israel's rapprochement with Azerbaijan directly threatens the strategic plans of Turkey and Iran. For Iran, the relationship is a harbinger of a new security crisis on its borders. The division of South Azerbaijani Turks along sectarian and ethnic lines is part of Israel's efforts to increase its influence in the region. The plan, dubbed the ‘Zionist Corridor,’ aims to fundamentally alter the balance of power in the region by turning Azerbaijan into a military and commercial bridge. This is not just an alliance; it is a strategy that ignites regional chaos. The corridor Israel is trying to establish through Ukraine, Georgia, and Azerbaijan compels regional powers such as Russia and Iran to make counter-moves, while also having the potential to transform the region into a new conflict zone.

Oil Sales: A Political Move Beyond the Economic Outlook

Azerbaijan's oil sales to Israel are sparking debate in the shadow of the war in Gaza. While official statements claim there are no direct sales, it is known that oil flows continue uninterrupted through indirect channels. Israel's reliance on Azerbaijan to meet its oil needs could open deep wounds in the Muslim world, posing a serious threat to the unity of the Turkic world. Energy trade is used not only as an economic tool but also as a political one. The fact that oil coming to Turkey via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is transported to Israel by tankers from the Ceyhan Port is a concrete example of this complex relationship. The process reveals that Azerbaijan is walking a very fine line between its national interests and regional sensitivities.

Crisis of Trust and Search for Balance in the Turkic World

Azerbaijan's relations with Israel have the potential to undermine the ‘one nation, two states’ understanding. Israel's strategies to divide the Turkish world are not new. If Azerbaijan cannot maintain a balance in its relations, cracks in regional alliances will be inevitable. Turkey's influence in the region will determine whether Azerbaijan can maintain its strategic independence, and this balance will shape the fate not only of the two countries but of the entire Turkish world. Furthermore, Azerbaijan's closeness to Israel is creating new challenges for Turkey's foreign policy. Ankara's need to increase its diplomatic manoeuvres to maintain the delicate balance is deepening the crisis of confidence in the Turkic world and threatening regional cooperation projects.

Impacts on Regional Security and Stability

The Israel-Azerbaijan alliance is shaking not only the interests of the two countries but also the regional security architecture. Iran's border security, Turkey's regional influence, and Russia's Caucasus policies are directly affected by this relationship. Stability in the region is being weakened by such external interventions, and the risk of new conflicts is increasing. In this complex equation, whether Azerbaijan's strategic choices will serve regional peace or chaos is of great importance. Potential crises in the security sphere could have devastating consequences not only militarily but also economically and socially.

Conclusion: A Dangerous Future in the Shadow of Secret Plans

The Israel-Azerbaijan relationship, which goes far beyond the military and economic interests on the surface, provides short-term strategic advantages as part of a complex and insidious geopolitical game, but in the long term, it threatens Azerbaijan's independence and regional stability. During this sensitive period of ongoing war in Gaza, the ethical and political issues created by energy trade, the deep divisions it has caused in the Turkic world, and the strategic reflexes that Turkey and Iran will develop will determine the future of the region.

In the face of this complex situation, as citizens of both states, we must awaken, question, and take action. Recognising hidden plans and insidious calculations is of vital importance for our national security. Remaining silent is to become part of the game. For the unity and future of the Turkic world, we must become aware.
